Chess Club

Butlersbridge NS Chess Club was formed earlier this school year, and boys and girls from our 6th class have been practising their chess moves at lunchtimes on Wednesdays. Our chess players always participate with great respect for each other and for the teachers involved. Recently, twelve students travelled to St. Felim’s NS, Cavan, to challenge their chess champions to a tournament. Our chess players had great success and lots of ‘Check Mates’ on the day. St. Felim’s NS will make a return visit to our school for a follow up tournament and we wish our players continued success. We are looking forward to participating in more chess tournaments later this term.
