Butlersbridge National School was established in 1974.  It is a vibrant, welcoming, and supportive environment, located in the heart of Butlersbridge on the outskirts of Cavan town.  We are a Catholic school and operate under the patronage of the Archdiocese of Kilmore.  We are inclusive and welcome all faiths and traditions. Butlersbridge National School is very much at the center of the community. Together the school works with the parents, the parish, and the community to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential.  

Our school community includes 260 children, 16 teachers and 4 Special Needs Assistants, a secretary, and a caretaker. We are also fortunate to have an active Board of Management and a wonderfully supportive parent body, represented by our Parents Association.
